Retreat 2011 "No Ordinary Couple"
It was our first time
in Traverse City and we had a fantastic time!!
We had 56 couples in attendance from more than 20 churches
and 6 denominations!
|
This
year we gathered together at Shanty Creek Resorts
and took part in a fun Superhero theme.

We we weren't sure how people would react to dressing up a member of the group to create a new superhero. They REALLY got into it! Look how creative everyone got! |

We
couldn't have picked a better speaker for our theme!
Pastor Phil, or "Mr. Incredible", really
got into the superhero theme! On Friday night, he
gave us the 3 keys to an incredible marriage: to honor,
protect, and respect one another.
|
|
|
On Saturday, we had lots of fun seeing Pastor Phil in his Incredible suit! We also had lots of laughs when Wayne played "Let's Make a Deal". He wore a stunning suit for the occasion and gave away lots of crazy prizes! |

Saturday night, Pastor Phil spoke to us about avoiding relational Kryponite like replacing contempt with honor and criticism with encouragement. |

Sunday
morning Pastor Phil taught us how to have a good fight
without destroying the Universe by keeping it honest,
under control, timed, positive, and cleaned up.
