Retreat 2001
What a great time we had!  38 couples from 3 different states joined us for Marriage Boost weekend 2001.  We had a wonderful time of fun and fellowship.

Saturday, couples enjoyed free time. Most people went shopping  in Shipshewanna.  Some played golf in Nappanee.  Even I was a good wife and went golfing for the first time with my husband on Friday afternoon! Actually, I had a good time!

At the banquet everyone had fun playing "Who Wants to Be a Married Millionaire". We enjoyed a terrific family style meal and then Jeff Morgan and Jeff Bloss did a hillarious skit called "Food for Thought".  It wasn't easy, but I was able to convince Jeff Bloss to be the lovely wife, Conchita!
We also had great fun listening to Dr. Ted Lee, Superintendant of the Indianapolis Nazarene district, tell some silly jokes.  His message on making it through tough times really hit home for a lot of our couples.

Sunday morning we had a delicious breakfast buffet and then played a friendly round of the "Not-so NewlyWed Game". Who could forget Dr. Lee's famous to the question, "What was you wife's phone number when you were dating?".  Bev gave the correct answer and Ted said, "Oops.  I put Helen's number!"  Imagine the fun we had with that one!
We also learned a great deal from Bev's devotion on empathy.  We all would be much better off if we could learn to see things from our spouse's point of view!
